What does engraving cost and how does it work?
Engraving costs €9 per piece and is set permanently into the wood by laser. In the engraving studio you choose a piece, enter a name, date or short dedication and see a preview at once — before you even order. From €80 order value, engraving is free.
Can I exchange or return engraved items?
Personalised items — anything with an engraving — are excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal (§ 312g (2) no. 1 BGB). Flawless engraved pieces therefore cannot be returned. Please check your input carefully before ordering. More in our withdrawal policy.
What does shipping cost?
Within Germany we deliver by DHL. From an order value of €80 shipping is free — below that, the shipping cost is shown during checkout.
How long does delivery take?
After payment we usually ship within a few working days by DHL. Engraved pieces add about one day of production time.
Do you ship abroad?
At the moment we ship within Germany only. For enquiries from Austria or Switzerland, feel free to write to us at info@karthago-holzdeko.de.
Which payment methods do you offer?
The payment methods available at checkout — including credit card, PayPal and Klarna. You'll see exactly which apply during the order process.
How do returns work?
For non-personalised items you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from receipt of the goods. Write to us at info@karthago-holzdeko.de, send the goods back, and we'll refund the purchase price. The exact steps are in the withdrawal policy.
Is olive wood suitable for outdoor use?
Our pieces are made for the kitchen, not for outdoors. Constant moisture, blazing sun and frost take their toll on the wood. Indoors and well oiled, olive wood lasts a lifetime.
How do I care for my olive wood?
Wash by hand, dry at once, stand it on edge and oil it about once a month — just not with olive oil. The complete guide is in our journal: How to care for olive wood.
Does every piece look the same?
No — olive wood is a natural product. Grain, colour and shape differ from piece to piece; variations are not a defect but the nature of the material.
